What does Revelation really mean?
1. a surprising and previously unknown fact that has been disclosed to others.
2. the divine or supernatural disclosure to humans of something relating to human existence.
The things that were covered before are here revealed or unveiled.
The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:

Who wrote this book and why was it written?
John, the disciple of Jesus, wrote this book to tell people about a vision he had of Jesus and about "what must soon take place." It was written for all Christians everywhere.
